Season’s Greetings 2018

Sue would like to wish all our clients, colleagues, friends and followers a very happy holiday season and a healthy and successful 2019. Enjoy!

12th International Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Compliance Congress

Sue is looking forward to speaking at the 12th International Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Compliance Congress in Vienna next week. These are very well thought-through conferences that enable Compliance Officers and others to share their approaches to a variety of different issues in the Life Sciences industry.

This year, ETHICS Association is hosting an interactive pre-conference session on Monday morning, which will enable participants to actively discuss some key issues on their tables and then across the room.  It should be a very interesting session!

Find out more about the congress here, and about ETHICS Association here.

Sciences Po / Seton Hall Law European Healthcare Compliance Programme

Sue is looking forward to speaking in Paris next week on the Sciences Po / Seton Hall Law European Healthcare Compliance Programme.

Sue speaks on two main topics: the role of the compliance & ethics officer, and scientific exchange of information / continuing medical education for healthcare professionals.  Both are interesting topics.

Transparency International Launches Online Anti-Bribery Tool

Transparency International’s UK chapter has released a new online tool to help organisations to combat bribery and corruption.  In an interview for the FCPA blog, Rory Donaldson, Business Integrity Program Manager for TI-UK, stated “the [online] guidance presents international best practice in tackling bribery.”

Sue is looking forward to tutoring in Paris in November

Seton Hall Law School and Sciences Po have put together their European Healthcare Compliance programme, which is delivered in Paris twice each year: in June and November.  Sue is privileged to be one of the tutors on the programme.  The next 4-day session begins on Monday 13 November.

Season’s Greetings and All the Best for 2017!

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients, colleagues and readers a very happy and peaceful holiday season with family and friends.  We hope that you have a relaxing break and come back refreshed for 2017.

Sue’s chosen charity for this holiday season and for 2017 is UNHCR.  Sue has made a one-off donation and also set up a monthly donation to help continue UNHCR’s valuable work with refugees from many countries.  As winter deepens in the northern hemisphere, many people will find it even more difficult to cope without homes or shelter.  We hope that others may also choose to donate to this very worthy cause, especially at this time of year.

Sue has signed the Declaration Against Corruption

Sue is delighted to announce that she has signed the Transparency International Declaration Against Corruption.  This is an important declaration in the global fight against corruption, which diverts funds from worthy causes into the pockets of unworthy individuals / groups.

Please show your support by signing the Declaration Against Corruption.

Thanks to Transparency International for adding this tool to their important work.

Sue is looking forward to ETHICS General Assembly

After months of preparation and fine tuning the agenda, it is almost time for the ETHICS Society General Assembly 2016.  Sue is hoping to see many old friends, and some new ones, in Paris next week.  Following feedback from previous years, the GA has been extended to a day and a half this year.  There should be plenty of opportunities for networking and exchanging information and ideas.

See the ETHICS Society website for more information.

Pharmaceutical Transparency has arrived in Europe

Now that pharmaceutical companies have disclosed the amounts paid to Healthcare Professionals and Healthcare Organisations by pharmaceutical companies during 2015 in both USA and Europe, it should be very easy for Compliance Officers to spot trends and check whether or not their company is operating in line with others in the industry.  But is it really that simple?

We are conducting analysis and have already noticed several interesting features in the data.  The data must be looked at within the overall context and will need careful interpretation and insights before any conclusions can be drawn or decisions made.

If you would like a copy of our analysis, including our insights into what the data tell us about the industry and individual companies, or you would like us to conduct some specific analysis for you, please do contact us.

Sue is looking forward to speaking at IPCAA in Copenhagen

Sue will be speaking at the IPCAA (International Pharmaceutical Congress Advisory Association) annual seminar on compliance pre-conference on 07 March in Copenhagen.  This seminar will be a great introduction for anyone new to organising events for pharmaceutical and medical devices companies.  It will give you some insights into not only what the rules are, but also why they are so restrictive.  See you there!
